Joe always tries to be the "Mr Nasty" that a lot of judging shows have nowadays all in an effort to make himself standout (but without the credentials to back himself up). I've got a theory that by the time Christine was cooking, the producers needed an underdog story so used Joe as the foil to doubt her abilities. Christine was 100% naturally talented and deserved to win that season anyway but the show really needed to hone in on that potential underdog story. I'd be surprised if Joe really really believed that Christine should be in the coat-check room. I think the producers wanted Joe to be a massive dick about Christine but because Joe is a dick anyway, he went overboard on his criticism of Christine and it put him in a really bad light with him being too gullible to realise how bad a light. There's no way someone is that obliviously offensive on a show this big. I think Joe caught on that the viewers hated him too (and that they realise that half of these cooks can cook better than him) so left for a few seasons. When he came back, his "Mr Nasty" persona had gone and he was just a normal judge. Even Ramsay looked fed up with him sometimes referring to him as a snob which is spot on.

The incodent between Kristen and Jackie could had been avoided if kristen wasnt being such a bitch and just handed over the lighter. Also she threatened Jackie first. It was a stupid argument that could had been avoided. Hand her the lighter she lights her smoke and hands it back...and then boom no one gets and ashtray dumped on them. But instead of that Kristen chose to instagate a fight with Jackie by threatening her. Now i hated Jackie and thoight sje was unprofessional, but in this incident so was Kristen. And i think they should have both been kicked off for the incident. Kristen for openingly threatening jackie and Jackie for the ashtray dumping. That would have showed the rest of the contestants that they would not stand for threats or actions. Same goes for when Kimmie nearly punched Robin. They should have bothe been repermanded. They kniw before hand that they are not to touch other contestants in a threatening manner and that should go for befbal threats too.
